Is GST safe?

GST was the paycheck of the move-to-earn summer. At the peak, walking earned real money; the economics of paying the whole user base to exercise did what such economics do, and GST's collapse from its 2022 highs became crypto's textbook case of earn-token hyperinflation. The authority read needs its genre context: GST's mint is not burned, and can't be — an earn token's whole function is being minted to players as rewards, so supply expansion is the product mechanism, governed by the game's emission design rather than a fixed cap. The freeze authority, the check that protects holders, reads revoked. What the mechanism means practically: your position dilutes as long as the game emits faster than its sinks burn, and that balance is a game-design decision made off-chain.

Three-quarters of a million holders is the residue of one of the largest onboarding events Solana ever had, and STEPN still operates — GST is a working game currency, not an abandoned one. But $32 thousand of pool depth under a $5 million mcap means the on-chain market is an afterthought; anything beyond small trades will move it badly.
